The east-side of the city of Derby has a new police Inspector in charge.

Inspector Joanna Meakin has taken over from Greg Hunt who has moved to a new role in Chesterfield.

Joanna will be in charge of suburbs of Derby such as Alvaston ,Allenton, Chellaston, Sinfin and Osmaston.

She comes to the role having recently been newly promoted and with nearly 18 years of policing experience with Derbyshire police.

She is experienced in Safer Neighbourhood policing, something she feels will hold her in good stead in her new role: “There is already a hard-working policing team working with our partners providing an excellent service to the community.

“I am really excited to be joining them and aim to be a visible leader using my past experience to help continue the good work that is being done by the teams in this area.”
