Alert message sent 31/01/2019 14:35:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

We have had several calls of Rogue Traders in and around your area. Please look at the bellow advice to prevent yourself becoming a victim:

What should I look out for?
- May say they are in the area and have spotted a problem with your house
- May claim to have materials left over from another job
- May try to pressurize you to buy goods on the spot
- May offer to drive you to a bank to withdraw money

Tips to keeping safe
- If you are not sure don't answer the door
- Check the identity by phoning up the company they claim they work for
- Ask a neighbor to come round before you answer the door
- Tell them to come back when someone else will be there
- Keep doors and windows lock

Always be aware of people who turn up unannounced, most genuine callers will have a pre-arranged appointment.

If you would like any more information on this please reply to the alert.
