Alert message sent 15/02/2019 15:25:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Officers investigating a robbery in London Road have released an image of a witness they would like to speak to.

A pedestrian reported that he had been walking down London Road, when another man approached him and demanded money. He then grabbed the victim’s coat, pulling him to the ground and stole his mobile phone.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the robbery, which took place at around 2.50pm on Thursday, November 15.

However, we would like to trace the man pictured; who we believe intervened, enabling the victim to make his way to a place of safety.

Although the image is not of the best quality, our officers hope that it may help us to identify him.

If you recognise this man, please get in touch using one of the following non-emergency contact methods.

Please quote the reference number 18000552715 and the name of the officer in the case, DC Lucy Hamilton, in any correspondence.

You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Please note in the event of an emergency you should always call 999.
