We are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Derby city centre last Saturday evening (March 9).

The incident happened at around 11pm in the Wardwick when the woman approached a man to ask for directions.

The woman was then punched by the man, who ran away along Becket Street.

He is described as white, of a stocky build and with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured jumper with a white t-shirt underneath, light coloured jeans and black trainers with white soles.
