Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Good afternoon all and Happy New year.
It was an uneventful Christmas and New Year throughout Derbyshire shooting community, which is a good thing.

November and December were extremely busy months. In November we had the new GP process and on 12 December we now have online applications and payments.

As of today we have received 82 online applications. It is so much easier to manage, no cheques or cash and all applications are legible and complete.

Please spread the word with regards to this new service.

We had 3 house burglaries in quick succession in November into December where it was clear they were burgled to steal the cabinets. Another plea from me, make sure you have a functioning alarm and make sure it is used.

No more burglaries reported since fortunately.

I have been busy training North Division officers on their training day with regards to Firearms Licensing requirements. Fortunately for most this will not affect you. This information normally becomes an issue when there are criminal investigations or guns are seized for emergency health reasons.

Please make use of the 3 main stations to dispose of firearms no longer required and wishing destruction.

Let me know of any problems and again feel free to ring the office for advice, Monday to friday 8am til 4pm

Many thanks
