Police in Mackworth offer residents free bike marking

Alert message sent 29/01/2020 09:24:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Officers from our Mackworth Safer Neighbourhood Team are offering residents free bike marking.

The offer comes at an event this weekend at the library, Prince Charles Avenue on Saturday, 1 February.

The scheme works by marking the bike with a unique code linked to the owner’s details on a secure database. If their cycle is stolen and subsequently found, we can use this code to ensure the bike is returned to its rightful owner and prove it is stolen.

The marking by www.BikeRegister.com is usually around £12 but is being offered free by our Safer Neighbourhood team.

The team will be at the library between 4pm and 7.30pm.
