We’re appealing for information after two men allegedly attempted to rob an elderly woman of her handbag in Brampton, Chesterfield.

It happened around 5.30pm on Tuesday 2 June on Victoria Street West.

The 74 year old was approached by two young men, who stopped the woman and demanded her handbag.

She refused and they were disturbed by a nearby resident. Both men ran off towards Church Street West.

The offenders are believed to have been around 5ft 8in, with brown hair. They were both wearing caps and face coverings, and one of the men was wearing trousers, while the other was wearing shorts.

Officers investigating the incident have now released some CCTV images of two people they would like to speak to as part of their inquiries. Do you recognise them?
