Nitrous Oxide

Alert message sent 19/06/2020 15:13:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

It has come to our attention that there has recently been a number of small silver canisters littering the streets of Bakewell.

The canisters contain Nitrous Oxide normally used in cooking or hospitals, but it is also known as Laughing Gas. It is very dangerous to inhale nitrous oxide, you risk falling unconscious and/or suffocating from the lack of oxygen.

People have died this way.

We suspect they are being used by younger adults and children and we are urging parents to warn children of the dangers. You can find more information on the Talk to Frank website:"" target="_blank">" target="_blank">" target="_blank">
