Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

A man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a mini-digger from a yard in Bolsover.

The digger was reported as being stolen just before 7.15pm yesterday (Thursday 18 June) from Woodhouse Lane.

A patrol officer then spotted a van towing a mini-digger, matching the details given on the report, on a trailer on the A60, heading towards the A619, near to Darfolds.

Our officers followed the vehicle, which had crossed into Nottinghamshire, until it was abandoned in the Norton area.

Further inquiries revealed the van had been reported stolen from Peveril Road, Chesterfield on Wednesday 10 June.

They arrested a 21 year old man, from Worksop, near to the scene on suspicion of theft of the mini-digger and the van.

We would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious, or with any information which could help with our inquiries.
