Alert message sent 15/08/2020 16:19:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Following the post yesterday on Swadlincote SNTs face book page regarding Peter who went missing from Woodville, later found in Burton the same day, Sgt Nizzer and Pcso Supervisor Wallington-Waite had the privilege of meeting Peter and his family for a catch up today.

Peter and his family wanted to say a heartfelt thankyou for all the support shown by the community yesterday and group 3 response officers and SNT who conducted a search for him.
Peter was born in Albert village, worked as a lorry and bus driver, yesterday it had been arranged for Peter to have tea with a childhood friend, whilst tea was being made Peter decided to go for a walk but did not return as expected.
He was thankfully soon found safe and well and his family had decided to treat him to his lunch today and invited us along for a chat.

For anyone that has a family member or friend with Dementia they will know of the worry that goes along with the illness.
To help us help you please fill in a Herbert protocol form via the link below.
The Herbert Protocol is a national scheme introduced by Derbyshire Constabulary and other agencies which encourages carers to compile useful information which could be used in the event of a vulnerable person going missing.

Carers, family members and friends or professionals can complete the form in advance.
