Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Members of the public have been asking why officers have been visiting schools over the last few days.

It is part of the role of Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) officers to engage with schools to ensure the safety of children who attend them.

Officers enjoy visiting schools to build positive relationships with young people, teachers, parents and guardians.

It is also a great opportunity to tackle local residents' concerns, such as irresponsible parking and anti social behaviour.

If you see one of our officers outside your local school please feel free to speak to us and encourage your children to do the same.
