Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Good evening,
Great news in these troubled times.
For those of you with Firearms Certificates, the Variation form and payment process has gone live on the Derbyshire Constabulary website this afternoon.
Any persons wishing to apply for a Variation can do so using the online application and online payment system.
You will still need to return your current certificate to us by post for amending.

Please visit the Constabulary website at Derbyshire.police.uk

With regards to the latest National Restriction change re COVID, our office is still open and staff are attending work. We are open for business.
We are still accepting Grant and Renewal applications and Variations. You can now apply for all 3 by visiting the above website and applying and paying online using your Visa Debit card.

The Firearms Enquiry Officers will still be risk assessing each suitability visit and have full PPE to conduct visits to home addresses.
If we are unable to attend a Renewal application due to the risk assessment, then it will be conducted by telephone. If necessary photo evidence of cabinet security may be required and emailed to the Department.
If we are unable to attend a Grant visit throughout this whole pandemic due to the risk then it will either be stored until we are able to visit ie the risk has been reduced sufficiently or you will be offered a refund.

Our desire is that if we are attending your houses then you must ensure you accurately tell us of any risk, that you also wear a mask to reduce the risk further and any children and pets are kept away from the area the staff member is conducting the visit.

Please pass this message on to colleagues who do not subscribe to Firearms Licensing messages and any Clubs you attend.

Many thanks
Malc
