PCC Hardyal Dhindsa holds Facebook Live Meet Your Commissioner event

Alert message sent 05/11/2020 12:13:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner

To complete the roundup of PCC @HardyalDhindsa's #D383 tour of Derbyshire's urban, suburban and rural communities, the final Meet Your Commissioner event was held on Facebook Live due to the lockdown restrictions, using the force's dedicated @DerbyshireConstabularyPLOD page.

The Police Link Officers for the Deaf (PLOD) scheme consists of police officers and police staff who have received training in deaf awareness and are skilled in the use of British Sign Language (BSL) at different levels.

These events had been held in all the nine local authority areas across Derbyshire and this final event was held specifically for our D/deaf communities and was supported by a British Sign Language interpreter.

At the events the Commissioner highlighted the key issues raised in the area and outlined some of the steps taken to address these matters, followed by a question and answer session.
