Concern for Safety

Alert message sent 12/01/2021 19:55:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Dear Residents,

East Safer Neighborhood Team attended the address for a concern for safety for a 90 year old missing female. She has dementia and was found wandering the streets at 4am yesterday before being found by our colleagues and taken to hospital and received the necessary treatment and referrals.

Concerns from neighbours that the address was in darkness for over a day and knowing their vulnerabilities were raised to us and we attended straightaway. We visited the home address initially and confirmed she was safe and well and spoke through ways we and our safeguarding partners could support.

Missing persons are a core part of our role and we have several a day, of varying priorities and vulnerabilities, some necessitating all manner of resources from dog units, drones and negotiators as well as assistance from other sections from across Derbyshire. Thankfully this was not the case.

We would like to thank the informant for contacting us swiftly; they had noticed something amiss and acted on this. It is a good example of community spirit in these difficult times.

If you have any concerns about elderly or vulnerable relatives that may go missing please contact us via private message or visit the below:
